In Antigua and Barbuda

The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) notes with deep satisfaction that its candidate
for the constituency of St Paul, E.P. Chet Greene, for the March 21 general elections, was today
nominated by the mother of his UPP opponent.
“There could be no greater testimony of confidence in a candidate than being nominated by his
opponent’s mother”, the ABLP declares.
Ms Nell Howell is the mother of Gregory “Driftwood” Athill, the candidate of the United
Progressive Party (UPP) against Greene.
E.P.Chet Greene commented: “I am extremely flattered that Ms Howell has nominated me to
be the parliamentary representative for St Paul once again, even though her own son is my
principal opponent in the elections. I thank her for her faith and trust in me”.
Greene added: “I will continue to serve diligently all the residents of St Paul, once re-elected,
including Ms Howell and her son Mr Gregory “Driftwood” Athill.
